Regardless of the specifics of your financial institution or the demographics of your community, an integral part of the success of an in-store branch is the relationship between the branch manager and the retail manager. During the early part of Mr. Tyler’s assignment at Hitt Road Walmart, there wasn’t much liberty afforded him by the Walmart store manager. He continued to work at building the bridge anyway, and he finally caught a break. Idaho Central Credit Union was asked to help at the Wal-Mart Employee Appreciation Day. They answered with an enthusiastic ‘yes’ and helped make that day a huge success.
Associates spent the entire day at the grill preparing the food for Walmart associates. The branch manager was invited to participate in the dunking booth. Every ball cost $1 and proceeds went to the Children’s Miracle Network.
The day was a turning point for the relationship between this credit union’s staff and the retail management. It was a day of team-building between ICCU’s in-store branch staff and that of Walmart.
